The founding members of the drumline for the Calgary Drum Club are some of the best rudimental drummers in the city. Individually, we have won many awards for our efforts and have taught, written and composed new music for all of the marching bands and drum corps in the city and surrounding area.

Gerry Hemsley

"During his percussion career Gerry has had the opportunity to instruct, perform and share the stage with the likes of such rudimental drumming legends as: Larry McCormick, Fred Johnson, John Pratt, Nick Attanasio, Tom Float, Marty Hurley, Alfons Grieder, Jim Kilpatrick, Scott Johnson, and Jeff Queen, as well as many other phenomenally great drummers too numerous to mention.

In January 2006 Gerry was recognized as a "Master Drummer" by the International Association of Traditional Drummers and awarded an "Honorary Membership" by this prestigious organization founded by the legendary rudimentalist John S. Pratt." ... click here to read more
